Notes from Crew meeting 2-17-10
* Tar started off with news that the web link to this year's plunge shall be ready soon, and that the DVDs are close to ready.
* Capt. reported that the Bristol library event went very well. Special congratulations to Baron and Ancien as this was their first lecturing event.
* We are attending a dinner theatre in our finery on the 27th in Pawtucket.
* Pawtucket Parade is March 6th. Those attending need to be at the Captain's house by 10AM or at McCoy Stadium by 11AM. Parade starts at noon. Attending this parade are Capt., Short Stack, Hutchins, Tar, Xavier, Mr. Sloughter, Boot, Amber Jack, Baron, Ancien, Sharlotte, Jacqueline, and Sam. Mr. Anderson is a potential
* Newport Parade is the 13th of March. Those attending need to be at Captain's house by 9AM, or in Newport by 10AM. Parade starts at 11AM. Attending this parade are Capt., Short Stack, Xavier, Mr. Sloughter, Boot, Amber Jack, Baron, Ancien, and Jacqueline. Mr. Anderson and Sam are potential.
* March 13th is also the night of our annual dinner. Our dinner is at Blake's Tavern starting at 7PM. The RIPP is paying for food, RIPP members are responsible for their own bar tabs.
*Smith Street Parade is March 20th. Those attending need to be at the Captain's house by 10AM or at the school off Smith St. by 11AM. Parade starts at noon. Attending this parade are Capt., Short Stack, Hutchins, Tar, Xavier, Mr. Sloughter, Boot, Amber Jack, Baron, Ancien, Sharlotte, Jacqueline, and Sam. Mr. Anderson is a potential.
* Sunday, March 21st the RIPP will be holding classes at Anderson's home starting at 10AM. Those interested in teaching please prepare your notes and send  word to Capt., Short Stack, or Tar so we can put you into the schedule.
* April 8/9-11th The RIPP may be going to North Carolina. We have seating for 7 to a potential of 12 persons. We are awaiting to hear from them to see if they can afford us.
* April 17th we shall be visiting the New Bedford Whaling Museum.
* April 23rd through 25th potential pirate immersion weekend.
* April 30th through May second is Smith's Castle.

Ships Log 3 February 1710 3bells of 2nd dog watch
Attending was Baron, Mr. Sloughter, Short Stack, Scarlett, Mr. Anderson, Ancien, Amber Jack, Mr. Hutchins, Tar, Mr. Holliday, Jacqueline, Boot, and Captain.

We started the meeting with the demand for biographies from those who have yet to give them.
Next, we spoke of Templecon; who was attending, at what times, and who was doing what. On Friday at 8PM Captain, Tar, and Mr. Sloughter will be giving a lecture on RI Pirates. Also on Friday Mr. Holiday will be giving a demonstration on period dice games. On Saturday at noon Capt. and Boot will be giving a Piracy 101 class. Jacqueline and Mr. Holiday will be giving demonstrations of dice and card games.

On Sunday the crew will be going to First Beach in Newport for the 3rd annual Pirate Plunge. We shall be meeting there at noon. Plunge participants are Capt, Hutchins, Tar, Amber Jack, Boot, Mr. Holiday, Mr. MacKinnen, Jacqueline, and special guest star Jenny. Anderson, Short Stack, and others will be attending to film, hold towels, etc...

On February 17th the RIPP will be going to the Bristol Library. Currently wishing to participate are Captain, Tar, Baron, and Ancien.

In March the RIPP will be participating in the St. Patrick's Day Parades in Pawtucket on March 6th, Newport on March 13th, and Providence on March 20th. After the Newport parade the RIPP will be having their annual dinner at Blake's Tavern,122 Washington Street in Providence at 8PM. The ship's kitty will be paying for the food, pirates are left to pay their tabs.

We shall hold a one day class in March (date to be determined), and a full immersion weekend in April (date to be determined). Also in April, we have been requested for a music video.

The first weekend of May will be at Smith's Castle. Attendees to be determined. On May 13th Dead Men's Tales: a Pirate Walking Tour will start. This tour will run Thursdays through Sundays and by appointment, starting at Bowen's Wharf, Newport RI. Tours will be at 11AM, 1PM, 3PM, and 5PM, as well as once a month a special lantern tour at 8PM. We will need 3 members per day: 2 tour guides and 1 to man the kiosk. Guides will be required to know the script as well as able to handle questions from the crowd.Potential guides should contact captain Atwood to request a copy to study. All potential guides must be able to give a satisfactory tour to captain before they will be allowed to give one to the public. This is a payed position.

Summer library tours will be from June 14th to August 20th. The schedule will be released to the crew when it comes in around the 15th. The RIPP will need several members for the encampments. Members must have a knowledge of what is in the encampment, as well as topics to be discussed. This is a payed position.

Tar, Anderson, myself and anyone else interested will be making training DVDs for those interested in participating in either libraries or walking tours.

Short Stack, Mr. Sloughter, and Mr. Anderson will be analyzing and evaluating our website in order to make it better.

Ships Log 6 January 1710 3bells of 2nd dog watch

In attendance Captain, Short Stack, Xavier, Mr. Anderson, Ancien Mariner, Xavier, Baron, Pyotr, Casper Van Riffe, Amber Jack and myself Tar.

Warwick Library on  January 14th all members not in gear must register online if they wish to attend. This is the first lecture of this nature for us as it is more geared more for the adults instead of the children

TempleCom on February 5th and 6th members will be helping with security, the RIPP will have a couple of tables as well as a lecture

February the 7th the Plunge: Tar, Casper, Xavier, AJ, Boot Hutchins and Captain will be jumping. All members are urged to help promote and goals are $200 per member this year. We are looking for extras for the DVD any ideas should be directed to the Captain.

Elections to be held on March 13 at Blake's: all existing officers and anyone wishing to challenge for an officers position must notify Boatswain Short Stack of their intention  no later than  March 6th.

In attendance Captain, Short Stack, Ilene, Xavier, Mr. Anderson, Ancien Mariner, Baron, Jacqueline May, Boot, Amber Jack and myself Tar.

Captauin Atwood started things off by reviewing 2009, pointing out we had a shaky start especially with the passing of Mr. Foster on March 30th. But with our fiurst out of state gig  in North Carolina, and the start of immersion classes we have begun to make big strides forward,

The Providence Libraries has given us 40 events during the next year. We also have Warwick  library and Bristol Libraries scheduled  for January and February of this year along with the RIHS event in June  and Barrington event in November in the works this promises to be a busy year.

Captain would like to see the following in the next year.

  1. Monthly class to be held 1 day a month

  2. Immersion classes every 3 months, possibly inviting other groups in
  3. Work shops on character development along with character weekends
  4. Possibly attending Mythical Journeys as a crew and Eight Flags Shrimp Festival
  5. There is a business plan in the works that will help in attaining Grants
  6. Members may be assigned homework
  7. The goal is to raise more money and have a better educated crew

Captain Atwood reports that the Library audition went very well and we should hear from them around New Year

Elevator Pitch competition was won by the Brown Medical Team however we received a lot of positive feedback

Saturday December 12th Party at Blakes tavern will be $5 to the public and $15 to members, 2 members per shift at door and gimmick table, possibly a gambling table.

December 5th Wickford Caroling event at 1pm, and 3pm. Crew needs to be there no latter than noon. Chorus practice on Sunday at noon, Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm. Thanks giving 2 directly to follow

December 12th Christmas party, 9pm-11pm. crew members to donate $15.00 each to help cover the cost. $5.00 admission Anderson to DJ raffel at 11:00 tickets $5 each or 5 for $20.00 must be there to win.

December 7th Captain and Tar will be at the Henry Barnard School to audition for the summer reading program.

December 8th Captain will be participating in an elevator pitch contest.

February 5&6 Templecon Big Bear Trading will be setting up shop

February 7th Plunge 3- Goal is $200.00 per person

Captain announced he has requested an honorary letter of marque from RI Governor Donald Carcieri

2nd order of business choir practice for Christmas caroling will be held on Thursdays from now until events - events will be Wickford Festival of lights and possibly Smith Castle.
